Chincoteague Island IS a Spring Break Destination!

Recently, ten young women artists (writers, a sculptor, painters, graphic illustrator, baker, fabric artist, audio producer, and knitter) and a sweet dog Shadow spent the week of Spring Break at North Star, a beautiful coastal Victorian home, creating and being inspired the island's tranquil March beauty.  For these women, who were coming to Chincoteague from NYU, Smith College, and San Francisco City College,  this trip was an opportunity for them to spend a week together and dedicate themselves to their art projects as they relaxed on the island during spring break.  This fine group of artists enjoyed a wonderful week of working and playing in the nurturing atmosphere that North Star is well known for.

North Star is a 5-bedroom Eastern Shore Victorian that was built in 1907.  Recently updated, North Star just north of Maddox Blvd. on Main Street.  The kitchen is outfitted with all the tools to make chili for twenty and hot cross buns. The dining room cherry wood table, with its leaves in, can easily accomodate a dozen for dinner.  Four of the five bedrooms are extra large, and another has room for bunk beds.  Below a second story deck is a screened porch holding the "in-great-demand" ping pong table.  The restored original front porch swing provides a quiet respite of days gone by.

North Star is a vacation rental home that sleeps 10 and is Pet Friendly.  If you belong to an artistic group and would like more information about coming to North Star for a retreat, please give us a call at 800/668-7836.  In the meantime, please enjoy the photos that this group graciously shared.
