Beautiful home on a nice culdesac. Enough room for three cars. Spacious. Everything we needed to cook at home. CLEAN! Easy check-in/out. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice home in a good location. We loved spending time on the deck. A few minor things, the water filter doesn't work and the smoke detector in the first floor bedroom went off at 3am for no apparent reason.

We had a nice stay at cockelshell cottage.We have rented this house for a few years now. This is the first time we've been back since before Covid. We were a little disappointed to see very few things have changed. There is only 1 couch in the livingroom with a wicker chair and love seat which makes it difficult for 8 adults to sit comfortably. When we were at the house we spent a lot of our time on the screened in porch, again not enough of seating. We realize this is a family home and the description says sleeps 8. We wish it had enough of seating, ect. for 8 as well. The house itself is very nice. We definitely recommend SeaStar Cafe, Woodys, and Capt. Zack's to eat, just to name a few.We love The Island Creamery for the BEST ice cream!!The island is a gorgeous place! Very laid back to enjoy a relaxing vacation!We hope you have a wonderful stay!

Cockleshell cottage was WONDERFUL!! Please know that when I only gave a couple 4 stars it was because I love a home on the water - the ONLY thing it was missing was a water view!!! The only thing I had an issue with was the back porch. It was a bit dirty. I needed to sweep and clean the porch furniture. It was no big deal, which was why it was only 1 point deducted.

I called & was told house did not have an iron and ironing board & it does. Lots of brown dog hair all over the back screened in porch. But house had a beautiful herb garden and was very cozy. Mosquitos were unbearable; even in screened in porch. I asked for ice machine to be fixed and was told it was sent to maintenance department, but never received a response after that. I assume someone came and fixed it while we were out since it put out at least some ice after that. Upstairs room with a twin trundle = twin mattress on the floor. Very difficult for an elderly woman to get up and down from. Otherwise a very nice, cozy house. I would stay in it again.

A wonderful week at Cockleshell Cottage, beach walking, cycling, great food and shopping. This is still my favorite vacation spot and I've been all over the world! Sorry I had to leave a little early due to my husband's illness, but we will be back!

This home by far was the best rental we have had yet. From the quiet peaceful area to the wildlife seen just from the backyard. Close enough to enjoy walking to the shops or catching the local trolley to take you around town. The home was spacious, clean, comfortable and beautiful. You can truly unwind in this home.

"Wonderful home for feeling at home while on vacation...."

This home was decorated beautifully and was more than roomy for the two of us plus our 2 yorkies. Loved sitting on the back screened in porch while reading or eating ice cream from one of the local creameries. The closet space was ample for our hanging clothes and plenty of drawer space. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything you'd need from preparing the simplest meal to gourmet fare. The location is away from the main drag but still close to it all. Can't compliment the home and the rental company. They were so helpful and made the process so easy.

"Best vacation ever!"

The rental was just perfect! We wished we could have stayed longer. The house was very clean, it was decorated so nice in a nautical theme. We were away from downtown Chincoteague, yet only a couple minutes from in the middle of town. Excellent shopping and restaurants. If we are able to return to Chincoteague we would definitely check if the Cockleshell Cottage is available. Very quiet area, we had very small children and a dog with us, we didn't have to worry about the hustle and bustle of traffic.
