Description

Nestled on a quiet cul-de-sac in a private community just off North Main Street (Oyster Bay II) is where you'll find the charming Cockleshell Cottage! On the assessable Main floor this modern 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom home boasts a master bedroom (Queen) with an ensuite bath, both screened in and open porches, kitchen, dining area, laundry, great room and second full bath. 

 

The great room is cozy on chilly days with it's electric fireplace and boasts both a sofa bed (Queen) and Futon (Full size) with it's full bath. The combination kitchen-laundry-dining area is well equipped for the cook who chooses to take advantage of the fresh herbs growing at the front of the house. (The owner says take some Bay leaf and Rosemary sprigs home with you.) 

 

The Second floor features two more bedrooms (one a Double and the other a Double/with pull-out Twin trundle), and the third full bathroom. 

 

Cockleshell Cottage is handicapped accessible on the main floor. Relax and enjoy the breeze on the open front porch or back screened porch. Some bikes, umbrellas, beach chairs and toys are available for guest use in the shed. A wonderful dog park is nearby. Contact the Town about requirements for a permit to use it. Call us today; this home books fast!

- Linens and towels are not included with your reservation. Please inquire about our new attractive linen packages!
- No smoking is permitted on the premises. 
- This property is pet friendly with a pet fee per pet. All pets must be disclosed prior to arrival. Pet restriction: limited to two small dogs only.
- Any reservations made for a future year (known as "Advanced Reservations") are subject to rate and availability changes. These reservations will be confirmed in January of the arrival year.

Beautiful home on a nice culdesac. Enough room for three cars. Spacious. Everything we needed to cook at home. CLEAN! Easy check-in/out. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice home in a good location. We loved spending time on the deck. A few minor things, the water filter doesn't work and the smoke detector in the first floor bedroom went off at 3am for no apparent reason.

We had a nice stay at cockelshell cottage.We have rented this house for a few years now. This is the first time we've been back since before Covid. We were a little disappointed to see very few things have changed. There is only 1 couch in the livingroom with a wicker chair and love seat which makes it difficult for 8 adults to sit comfortably. When we were at the house we spent a lot of our time on the screened in porch, again not enough of seating. We realize this is a family home and the description says sleeps 8. We wish it had enough of seating, ect. for 8 as well. The house itself is very nice. We definitely recommend SeaStar Cafe, Woodys, and Capt. Zack's to eat, just to name a few.We love The Island Creamery for the BEST ice cream!!The island is a gorgeous place! Very laid back to enjoy a relaxing vacation!We hope you have a wonderful stay!

Cockleshell cottage was WONDERFUL!! Please know that when I only gave a couple 4 stars it was because I love a home on the water - the ONLY thing it was missing was a water view!!! The only thing I had an issue with was the back porch. It was a bit dirty. I needed to sweep and clean the porch furniture. It was no big deal, which was why it was only 1 point deducted.

I called & was told house did not have an iron and ironing board & it does. Lots of brown dog hair all over the back screened in porch. But house had a beautiful herb garden and was very cozy. Mosquitos were unbearable; even in screened in porch. I asked for ice machine to be fixed and was told it was sent to maintenance department, but never received a response after that. I assume someone came and fixed it while we were out since it put out at least some ice after that. Upstairs room with a twin trundle = twin mattress on the floor. Very difficult for an elderly woman to get up and down from. Otherwise a very nice, cozy house. I would stay in it again.

A wonderful week at Cockleshell Cottage, beach walking, cycling, great food and shopping. This is still my favorite vacation spot and I've been all over the world! Sorry I had to leave a little early due to my husband's illness, but we will be back!

This home by far was the best rental we have had yet. From the quiet peaceful area to the wildlife seen just from the backyard. Close enough to enjoy walking to the shops or catching the local trolley to take you around town. The home was spacious, clean, comfortable and beautiful. You can truly unwind in this home.
