Currently the Island Library does not list any COVID related closures outside of their normal business hours.  You may want to call ahead just to double check.

Our Chincoteague Island Library serves the residents of Chincoteague, our Eastern Shore neighbors, and our many seasonal visitors.  Free and open to the public, the library is independent, supported by private donations and grants, and staffed by over 30 volunteers.  We are affiliated with the Eastern Shore Public Library (ESPL) sharing collections and following its rules and procedures. Our collections include current and popular books, audio books, e-books, CDs, DVDs, a basic reference collection, magazines, and newspapers.  There are public computers for email, word processing, and surfing the net.  The Library also offers 24-hour wireless internet connection (password:  IslandLibrary).

This year, the Chincoteague Island Library is celebrating 20 years of serving our community.  In addition to our year-round children’s programs and monthly book clubs, many special events are planned. Special anniversary merchandise is available in our Library Benefit Shop as well as note cards, “Music to Read By” CDs, and a wide variety of used books. Come and check it out; there's something for everyone!
