Description

Tranquility meets you at every turn at Cedar Cove, a custom-built waterfront home nestled amongst the pines in the Oyster Bay I community. The open floor plan allows for a bright and airy atmosphere in the common areas downstairs - an open living room with a gas fireplace to warm a chilly evening, and a bright and cheery fully-equipped kitchen. The primary bedroom is also found on the ground floor, with a queen bed and bath, flat-screen television, and private balcony overlooking the backyard and waterfront view. The bathroom also has an entrance from the entrance hall of the house, allowing it to act as a bathroom for guests downstairs as well. Upstairs you'll find a game loft complete with a foosball table, a futon, and plenty of board games to keep the kids busy on a rainy day. Two additional bedrooms are also upstairs, one with two fulls and another with a queen size bed - both have televisions and balconies as well. A newly-remodeled full bath is also located upstairs off the loft area as well. Outside you'll find ample space for plenty of outdoor enjoyment with the family - a spacious deck with outdoor seating and dining areas, a firepit with comfortable Adirondack chairs, and an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand after a long day at the beach. Located in a quiet private community just off the "beaten path" - all the amenities Chincoteague has to offer are just minutes away on the bike or in the car. Bring your kayaks and launch right from the small dock located on the property, or grab a pack of chicken necks at the grocery store and catch a few crabs - round out the meal with a sack of oysters from Gary Howard''s market just up the street (if all else fails he sells crabs at a reasonable price too). Then take the time to gather with family on the porch to enjoy the bounty the island has to offer - all from the comfort of Cedar Cove here on Chincoteague Island.

"A pleasant stay with a few concerns ......."

We have stayed here before, so we knew what to expect. We weren't disappointed. The pros: spacious layout, lots of windows, nice TV that we could access our streaming services, and we had fun watching the birds in the front in the canal and in the marsh behind it (I saw with my binoculars a family of young ibis birds with their long beaks in that canal, which I had never seen before). The biggest con for us was the water pressure, which was extremely low & when we flushed the toilet the water in both the sinks and the shower would stop. There were only 3 of us, so we can't imagine what it would be like with a family with young children. We also noticed that a lamp was broken in the living room and 2 lights in the bedroom had bulbs that had burned out.

We had a great time here. We were a little late in the season for crabbing of the dock, but honestly, we had our best together time sitting around the table playing games. We enjoyed every area in the house during our stay. The beds could use fresh mattresses and it’s time for the end-of-season deep clean, but we would definitely stay here again if we came back to the island.

Had a great time as always! However, the appliances in this rental were inadequate and didn't function property. Stove burners didn't work and dryer took several cycles to dry 2 towels.small washer and dryer for 10 people made laundry a hassle.

We had a relaxing visit to chincoteague at Cedar Cove, the house is lovely, the kitchen is well equipped but the queen bed upstairs was very uncomfortable. I would stay here again if the beds were better or I could bring a topper for the mattress which was very hard and uncomfortable.

Overall, the stay was fine. Loved the spacious outdoor deck and watching families of geese wander by. Property was decently maintained but needs a little extra TLC (e.g., the kitchen sink faucet wasn't properly attached; the downstairs bathroom sink clogged regularly; the grills could use a good cleaning). The first weekend was lovely, waking up to a chorus of birds, but the peace was soon interrupted by weekday construction of a house nearby (circular saws, hammering/pounding, etc., machinery, etc.), including a rude wake-up call at 6:45 a.m. the next Saturday from a cement smoother machine at the site. Wish we had been informed of the construction in advance, as we would likely have chosen a different property.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cedar Cove. The house was spacious and very clean. We all had our own space to retreat to. I especially loved the balconies. There were even 2 geese that visited daily! I would highly recommend this rental!

We love Oyster Bay and this house met all of our needs to the great boat dock to the many pots and pans and neat decor! We give it two thumbs up ! Nice and clean as well as :) Chincoteague resort rentals very friendly !
