"Wonderful memories with Grand View"

4 of 5

We stayed at Grandview last week with two of our children, their spouses and four grandchildren. It was indeed a grand view from the house, deck and docks across the bay. When our children were young, we spent many years camping on Chincoteague, so this trip brought back many memories, and special moments sharing the time with our young grandchildren. The house was a wonderful place to relax after a day on the beach. We didn't have to worry about our young grandchildren on the dock, and they loved watching the sealife below. We were a bit disappointed that we only caught (and released) one legal sized crab the whole week, but we did have fun checking the trap several times a day!We liked the floor plan of the house, with each bedroom having their own bathroom. We wondered why one of the sofa beds on the main floor wasn't in the sitting area between the bedrooms upstairs. Might have made a little more sense (and provided some privacy), rather than having all sofa beds on the main floor. The only other real complaint the whole week was the galley kitchen. We are all cooks, and like to help out in the kitchen at mealtimes. We found it to be almost impossible for more than 2 people to be in the area at one time...and even then it seemed crowded! The worst part was the positioning of the dishwasher and the refrigerator....if the dishwasher was open, you couldn't open the fridge, and if the fridge or the dishwasher was open, no one was entering or leaving the kitchen at that end of the galley. That said, the kitchen was by far the best equipped kitchen of 3 houses that we have rented (the other home were much more upscale in Corolla, NC and Captiva, FL, so we were pleasantly surprised with all that Grandview offered). As families who love to prepare meals, it was wonderful to have so many of the utensils and equipment that we are accustomed to....other than sharp knives! The screened porch provided an extra room for the children to play, without worrying about mosquitos. We all enjoyed relaxing on the deck in the evenings, enjoying the sunsets, and we loved having our morning coffee there, or at the end of the dock. One morning, we even saw and heard a pod of dolphins swimming and fishing. Overall, it was a grand time at Grandview! Just wish the house had a couple more bedrooms so our whole family would be able to enjoy it!

"Had an absolutely great time!!!"

4 of 5

We come to Chincoteague every year. We were supposed to get a different house of our choice, but even though we had a reservation, the rental company bumped us out. They recommended we take this house instead, and although they did charge us quite a bit more, we were very happy here. The house is modern and fairly clean. You will have plenty of room and the view of the water is beautiful. It is the perfect place to come with extended family. We LOVE Chincoteague and we LOVED this house!

"Wonderful, Quiet T ime on the Waterfront"

4 of 5

4 "retired' couples have been spending a long Jan/Feb weekend together for 20+ years, including time in the Pocono's and the last 10 years in Chincoteague. This year at Grandview was among the best. Accommodations are very good and evening sunsets beautiful. We happened across an evaluation in the "guestbook" that listed various and sundry problems at Grandview; our conclusion was total disbelief of the comments being provided. We would highly recommend Grandview to anyone and certainly would return!
