"The Great Escape"

We enjoyed the Great Escape a lot. The house fitted us well in terms of space. We liked the division of rooms as it allowed people to do different things and spread out. The house was clean and well stocked. The porches were a great asset. We did have a couple of thoughts for improvement: First, there could be a few more comfortable chairs in the living room. The house is rated for 10 people, and we were 8, but there was only room for 6 in the living room. This made times when we were all together uncomfortable. Also a little step stool to reach high cupboards would be useful as some of us are vertically challenged and couldn't reach. It would also help to get into bed, ours was very high. It would be useful to have a place to hang wet towels and suits. Finally a few beach things like chairs etc would be welcome addition. We left some pool noodles for you. Otherwise, we thought the place was excellent and look forward to renting it next July as soon as I can get agreement on the dates. Andy.

"We loved The Great Escape"

The Great Escape was one of the best places we’ve stayed at in Cape Charles. It was spacious and beautifully designed, very clean and had everything we needed and more! We loved hanging out on the front porch swing and the screened in porch. It was a nice central location for going to the beach, downtown and the park. And we appreciated the outdoor shower to keep sand out of the house!

"Excellent experience!"

The Great Escape was the most perfect place for our family getaway. The historic home was totally precious, big enough for our large family, totally spotless and immaculate when we arrived, and well stocked with all the amenities we needed. Besides the adorable town of Cape Charles and beautiful little beach, we especially enjoyed the large, screened-in back deck of this house. Plenty of seating and a large table made it perfect for morning coffee and dinner for the whole family. With a spacious living room, dining room, and 3 full bathrooms plus an outdoor shower, the home was extremely comfortable for our big crew. Extra touches like the charming decor, spotless linens, keyless entry, and dual coffee maker (drip and Keurig) made our experience seamless and delightful. We have already planned to book The Great Escape for our next family trip!
